Dinniman Delivers $5,000 to Meals on Wheels FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: ADAM CIRUCCI TRAPPE – State Senator Andy Dinniman recently visited Meals on Wheels of Montgomery County Family Services and presented the organization with $5,000 in state funding. “Meals on Wheels provides an invaluable service to the elderly, disabled and homebound residents of Trappe and Upper Providence,” Dinniman said. “For many clients, this program is what allows them to remain in their own homes with familiar surroundings.” Dinniman secured $5,000 in Department of Community and Economical Development funding to support Meals on Wheels program operations in Trappe and Upper Providence. He also joined volunteers to personally deliver meals to local clients on Wednesday, August 29. The Family Services’ Meals On Wheels program is the oldest continuously operating Meals On Wheels program in Montgomery County. In recent years the program’s more than 200 volunteers have served on average approximately 400 clients and 100,000 meals annually.
